Job summary

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay seeks a Behavioral Health Attendant to support transport of individuals with medical, emotional, or developmental needs. You will work under supervision, ensuring safety and dignity during all movements.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, accurate documentation, staying alert to patients’ conditions, and following routes across Hillsborough and Pasco counties; you must be reliable, punctual, and committed to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have valid Florida Class E Driver’s License.
• Must obtain Hillsborough County Driver’s Identification Badge (DIB) upon job offer.
• Must successfully pass Department of Transportation physical examination, federal background check and 10 panel drug screen.
• Have had no more than two moving violations in the past five years and no serious traffic convictions in five years.
• Complete Florida Certification Board trainings (FADAA) within 14 days of employment.
• Complete AHA CPR certification at the BLS Provider level within 14 days of employment.
• Complete Emergency Vehicle Operators (EVOC) training and test within 14 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact by safely transporting passengers with medical, physical, emotional, or developmental disabilities.
• Participates in PQI processes and uses data to improve services and outcomes.
• Follow predetermined route and/or daily manifest in Hillsborough and/or Pasco counties.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure sound vehicle operations.
• Ensure the patient is properly secured during transport.
• Safely transport individuals in a company vehicle to a designated facility, including physical and emotional well‑being.
• Complete and maintain proper patient and transportation documentation.
• Maintain radio communications with the dispatcher.
• Complete required initial and ongoing training as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory team.
