Job summary

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Attendant to safely transport passengers with medical, emotional, or developmental needs across Hillsborough and Pasco counties.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure patients, and maintain accurate transportation documentation. You will operate in a fast-paced driving environment, communicate with dispatch, and participate in ongoing training to ensure compassionate, professional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid Florida Class E Driver’s License.
• Must obtain Hillsborough County Driver’s Identification Badge (DIB) upon job offer.
• Must pass Department of Transportation physical examination, federal background check and 10 panel drug screen.
• No more than two moving violations in the past five years and no serious traffic violations in the past five years.
• Complete Florida Certification Board trainings (FADAA) within 14 days of employment.
• Complete AHA CPR certification at the BLS Provider level within 14 days of employment.
• Complete EVOC training and test within 14 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Follow predetermined route and/or daily manifest in Hillsborough and/or Pasco counties.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure sound vehicle operations.
• Ensure the patient is properly secured during transport.
• Safely transport individuals in a company vehicle to a designated facility.
• Complete and maintain proper patient and transportation documentation.
• Maintain radio communications with the dispatcher.
• Completes required initial and ongoing training as needed.
