Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring weekend Behavioral Health Technicians in the Norfolk area to support residential operations across our programs. This role offers multiple shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am) to meet program needs and requires a compassionate, patient approach.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, guiding a supportive team, and maintaining safety and compliance within a recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Ability to lead and interact well with clients and colleagues.
• Commitment to recovery principles and boundaries.

• Escalate concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale to maintain a warm recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance with all rules, policies and procedures.

We have all shifts available:

First shift (7am-3pm), second shift (3pm-11pm) and third shift (11pm-7am).

What You'll Do

• Manage all daily residential operations (i.e. Intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications etc.)
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities
• Escalate any concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment
• Ensure client and BHT compliance to all Avenues rules, policies and procedures

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles
