Job summary

Principles Recovery Center in Davie, FL is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for a full-time day shift. You will supervise adults, help with recovery programming, and ensure safety and documentation compliance in a supportive clinical setting.

The role requires 2+ years in direct care with substance use treatment, a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to pass background checks. Teamwork and professional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a BHT or in a similar direct care role.
• Experience working with adult clients in a substance use treatment setting.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a Level II background check and drug screen.
• Available full-time for listed schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support adult clients throughout daily programming.
• Complete shift notes, room checks, incident reports, and behavior documentation.
• Conduct regular headcounts, rounds, and safety checks.
• Collect and document urine drug screens (UAs) in accordance with policy.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of all shared program spaces.
• Enforce program rules while modeling professional and respectful communication.
• Collaborate with therapists, medical staff, and leadership.
• Participate in team meetings and shift-change debriefs.
• Escort clients to appointments or activities as needed.
