Job summary

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to provide daily direct care to psychiatric patients, manage safety checks, and support the treatment team. You will assist with discharge planning and facilitate therapeutic activities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and adherence to safety policies while contributing to the facility's commitment to patient-centered care and community wellbeing.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• (DL) Driver License must be held

Responsibilities

• Provides direct daily care to psychiatric patients, including safety checks, escorts and transports.
• Assists activities therapy staff in recreational therapy and activities with patients.
• Models, teaches, and reinforces appropriate behavior for patients and supports treatment team interventions.
• Facilitates process groups and educational groups for patients and staff as required and assigned.
• Communicates clearly in verbal and written formats; reports data outside expected parameters to team members.
• Participates as a member of the treatment team to provide safe, effective, timely, and compassionate care.
• Assists with discharge planning activities and tasks for all patients as directed by clinicians.
