Job summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician for its Adult treatment (Fairview) and Women’s and Children Shelter (Claire House). The schedule is 7pm-7am for Fairview and 7am-7pm for Claire House, with every other weekend.

You will monitor client well-being, support therapeutic activities, document observations, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, supportive care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• CPI de-escalation training knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
• Candidates in recovery must have 2+ years of sobriety.
• 2 years of Behavioral Health Tech experience in Acute Psych and substance use disorder treatment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment for clients.
• Observe and document client behaviors that are unusual or noteworthy.
• Monitor clients’ physical and mental well-being.
• Provide input regarding client progress to the interdisciplinary team.
• Oversee activities when no professional staff is on duty.
• Complete incident reports as required by policy and procedure.
• Engage in client activities on and off campus and support emergencies as needed.
