Job summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician for its Adult treatment (Fairview) and Women’s and Children Shelter (Claire House).

The schedule is 7pm-7am for Fairview and 7am-7pm for Claire House with every other weekend. You will provide direct supervision of clients and work with clinical, medical, and other staff to ensure comprehensive substance abuse treatment services.

Qualifications

• CPI de-escalation training knowledge is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment for clients.
• Engage with clients using empathetic, therapeutic communication.
• Observe and document client behaviors; assist with activities.
• Monitor clients’ physical and mental well-being and report to team.
• Provide input regarding client progress to the interdisciplinary team.
• Supervise facility operations when no professional staff is on duty.
• Conduct client bed checks and other safety procedures as directed.
• Assist with client transportation and incident reporting as required.
• Complete all required documentation and incident reports.
