Job summary

NCHS Psychiatry is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and maintain a therapeutic environment. You will work under RN supervision, document observations, and contribute to safety during group sessions and treatments.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, confidentiality, and effective communication with patients, families, and staff, ensuring timely service and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• CPI (Crisis Intervention) training completed before orientation.
• BLS certification maintained in good standing.
• Background check and good moral character required.
• First-year orientation includes 12 hours of in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Document observations and significant occurrences in patient charts.
• Communicate patient behaviors to the team and RN.
• Lead group sessions with a preset agenda and safety checks.
• Provide de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interactions.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized environment for all.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
