Job summary

ThedaCare is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for the Neenah Hospital unit. You will support RN staff, supervise patients, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals with behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities include observing patients, documenting progress, guiding activities of daily living, and assisting in crisis intervention under RN supervision. 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, with holiday rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for the patients.
• Maintain line of sight supervision of assigned patients at all times.
• Observe patients and document behaviors and activities.
• Provide care to ensure patient safety, rights, comfort and therapeutic environment.
• Orient patients and family to the unit and hospital.
• Assist with groups and safety/risk management procedures.
• Defuse and report crisis situations as needed.
• Document patient behaviors and progress per policies.

Education

High School diploma or GED

BLS (American Heart Association) certification
