Job summary

Southeastern Life Center in Lumberton, NC, seeks a Behavioral Health Technician for the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team. The role provides recovery support, life-skills coaching, safety rounds and incident reporting within a SUD/MH program.

You will co-facilitate structured activities, document observations in the EMR, escalate clinical concerns, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery-oriented care for adults at risk due to mental health or substance use

Qualifications

• Must possess at a minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience in SUD/MH settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct access control, safety rounds, and hazard checks; promptly escalate risks to supervisory staff.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu by monitoring client interactions and de-escalating when needed.
• Use de-escalation and crisis techniques; complete incident reports as required.
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate objective observations to the treatment team.
• Monitor and ensure the safety of patients in crisis and follow the service plan or clinical orders.
• Work independently and as a member of the team.
• Learn and apply recovery-oriented practices in interactions with clients.
