Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician I to provide direct and supportive care to clients in our behavioral health program. Duties include monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and supporting adherence to treatment plans while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

You will work as part of a treatment team, document client progress, participate in group education and activities, transport clients as needed, and complete required trainings and compliance tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance use and mental health treatment.
• Capable of communicating ideas clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to produce clear reports.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively with clients, employees of organization, family members and other contacts.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Basic keyboarding skills and navigate/enter notes within electronic medical records.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables within standardized situations.
• Ability to establish rapport with client population while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Encourage clients to adhere to program expectations and rules in a trauma-informed manner and communicate concerns to the treatment team.
• Identify client strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences as an active treatment team member.
• Document and report at shift change any exceptional behavior or concerns in client records.
• Assist, educate, and redirect clients in daily activities as needed.
• Monitor client activities and document progress related to behavior.
• Ensure all clients are accounted for in scheduled activities.
• Foster adaptive behavior and positive social interactions while modeling solutions.
• Prepare for and facilitate group rehabilitative activities as scheduled.
• Provide client transportation to appointments as needed.
• Maintain behavior consistent with organization policies and code of conduct.
• Complete mandatory trainings within required timeframes per regulatory standards.
• Attend staff and treatment team meetings as requested.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and report maintenance issues.
