Shift: Saturday & Sunday (7:00am - 7:00pm)

Job Summary:

Join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health as a Behavioral Health Technician in the Kansas City, Missouri area!

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will support clinical staff and deliver compassionate care to patients experiencing various mental health conditions. You may work in settings such as inpatient psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, residential treatment facilities, and outpatient clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care and Safety: Monitor patients, assist with daily tasks, de-escalate situations, enforce safety protocols, prevent self-harm, and notify staff of changes in condition.
  • Therapeutic Activities: Lead and evaluate recreational and occupational therapy sessions to promote skills and symptom reduction.
  • Milieu Management: Maintain clean and organized environments, promote prosocial behaviors, and reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Documentation: Record observations and interventions accurately in health records, ensuring timely submission.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with mental health professionals to provide holistic care and participate in team meetings.
  • Treatment Plan Implementation: Execute aspects of individualized treatment plans, including medication and therapy interventions.
  • Client Education: Teach patients about psychiatric symptoms, triggers, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
  • Discharge Planning: Assist with transition planning, follow-up, and community resource linkage.
  • Self-Care: Prioritize personal well-being to maintain effective and compassionate care.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or two years of relevant work experience
