Job description

Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support patients in our Recuperative Care program at the SSRC building, located at 2175 California Street, Denver, Colorado 80205. The BHT will work closely with the Safety Director, Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services, Director of Recuperative Care, Nurse Manager, and other team members to provide a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for individuals healing from acute medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide de-escalation and environmental safety support to patients.
• Monitor floor milieu and respond to escalated situations promptly.
• Support an integrated care plan for each patient.
• Assist with mental health groups and activities.

Qualifications:

• Active certification in basic life support (CPR/BLS) required.
• Interest in harm reduction, behavioral health, or supporting vulnerable populations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
• Prior experience or certification as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA preferred.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

Additional Information:

This position requires completion of internal credentialing and privileging processes prior to start date. The timeline depends on the submission of necessary documents. Compensation ranges from $20.64 to $24.28 per hour.
