Job summary

The Wood Group Behavioral Health Services in Waco, TX is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to support residents with behavioral health challenges. You will help clients achieve stability through structured care, safety, and empathetic support.

This full-time role includes Day and Overnight 12-hour shifts, with opportunities to collaborate with a care team and participate in ongoing training, while promoting dignity and respect for every resident.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in behavioral health preferred.
• Prior experience in mental health or behavioral health is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and crisis intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals according to the facility menu.
• Complete items on the facility Chore Sheet as directed.
• Supervise resident medications and document dosages and counts.
• Maintain daily chart documentation.
• Follow The Wood Group's policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Full-time Shift Available

• Daytime shift - 7am to 7pm (12hr rotating schedule)
• Overnight shift - 7pm to 7am (12hr rotating schedule)

Below are a few job duties to expect as a Behavioral Health Tech:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation
• Be familiar with The Wood Group's policy and procedures to include employee handbook.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in behavioral health or related field preferred
• Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or social services is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary Description

$13.50 per hour
