Job summary

The Wood Group is seeking compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to support youth in a crisis facility, providing critical care and ensuring safety and wellbeing in a supportive environment.

You will work daytime or overnight shifts, or PRN, with duties including monitoring youth, meal service, charting, and maintaining a safe, structured environment while upholding confidentiality and respect.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Additional training in mental health or behavioral support preferred.
  • Prior experience working with youth or in a mental health setting is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Basic knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Able to work every other weekend is required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
  • Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.

  • Follow facility policies, procedures, and confidentially standards at all time.
  • Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.

Job description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) to join our youth crisis facility, where we provide critical support and care for young individuals facing mental health and behavioral challenges. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth during their most vulnerable moments, working within a supportive and collaborative environment committed to growth and recovery.

Full-time shift available:

  • Daytime Shift - 7am to 7pm (12hr rotating shift)
  • Overnight Shift - 7pm to 7am (12hr rotating shift)
  • PRN shift (will work on as need for call out)
Below are a few job duties to expect as a Behavioral Health Tech:
