Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106-bed acute care hospital serving Sierra Vista, AZ. A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct patient care under nursing supervision, maintains a safe environment, and supports a 19-bed behavioral health unit focused on mental and emotional well-being.

This PRN role requires compassion, teamwork and adherence to safety protocols while assisting with daily living activities and therapeutic interventions, ensuring quality patient care and timely

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• License: CNA preferred.
• Certifications: BLS must have within 45 days of hire.
• Certifications: Handle with Care (HWC) must have within 45 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
• Reports changes in condition to nursing staff and suggests treatment-plan modifications.
• Provides crisis intervention on incoming calls and on unit to maintain safety.

How You'll Contribute

A Behavioral Health Tech who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

What We're Looking For
