Canyon Vista Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health for full-time night shifts (6:45pm–7am) with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for 2+ years of experience. Join our team in Sierra Vista, AZ, and deliver compassionate care in a supportive environment.

Applicants should hold an AZ or Compact RN license, an Associate's Degree in Nursing, BCLS certification, and have 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Arizona or Compact RN license.
• BCLS certification required.
• One year of behavioral health or RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Behavioral Health Department through the nursing process.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and ensure safety.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to coordinate care and transitions.
• Provide age- and culture-appropriate patient education.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.

As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for delivery of patient care in the Behavioral Health Department through the nursing process of interview, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and triage.

The RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

How You'll Contribute

Essential Functions

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
• Must have an active Arizona or Compact RN License.
• BCLS required.
• Handle with Care certification is preferred.
• One year of experience preferred
