The Behavioral Health Technician Il (BHT lI) is responsible for providing direct, supportive care to clients/patients, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Under the supervision of the Health Homes Project Director and Clinical Supervisor, the BHT I will assist with health monitoring, crisis intervention, and facilitate group activities. The BHT I will help implement treatment plans and encourage clients in achieving their wellness goals. The role works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide comprehensive care to individuals in both residential and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery:Provide services in alignment with the organization's code of conduct, policies, and standards.
Health Service Systems:Assist clients in identifying, securing, and sustaining resources that promote healthy living and independence.
Multidisciplinary Team Support:Act as a team member in developing individualized treatment plans based on the client's strengths, needs, and preferences. Implement and monitor these plans with team and community provider support.
Assessments:Conduct client assessments to inform the development of individual treatment plans.
Family Engagement:Foster family involvement by educating and supporting the implementation of family plans. Advocate for families, guiding them through interactions with agency services and benefits.
Wraparound Facilitation:Facilitate wraparound meetings for children/youth to ensure active participation and coordination with service providers.
Wellness Plan Implementation:Initiate and support interventions to help clients achieve wellness goals. Track and document progress.
Resource Identification & Linkage:Identify appropriate community agencies to meet client needs. Assist team members with linking clients to community resources.
Community Outreach:Represent the program at community events or meetings, facilitating presentations on available services and resources.
Role Modeling:Build positive, non-judgmental relationships with clients, acting as a role model and supporting appropriate behavior.
Health Management & Self-Advocacy:Teach clients skills for managing health and advocating for their needs. Monitor and update treatment teams on clients' physical wellness.
Activity Planning:Plan and facilitate wellness-promoting activities for clients, including educational and recreational programs.
Organizational Participation:Participate in quality assurance and health/safety activities as directed by the supervisor.
Other Duties:Perform additional duties as assigned by the Health Homes Project Director.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
Required:High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:Two years of responsible work experience in a related field (e.g., Human Services, Mental Health).
For St. Louis County Programs:Bachelor’s degree or MAADC I or II certification.
For Residential Care Facility (RCF):Must obtain certification as Level 1 Medication Aid (LIMA) and Insulin Certified within 90 days of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Case Management Knowledge:Strong understanding of case management methods in mental health and substance use treatment settings.
Community Resources:Familiar with local resources and able to guide clients in accessing needed services.
Communication Skills:Clear and effective verbal and written communication for reporting and client interactions.
Treatment Modalities:Knowledge of mental health treatment methods, regulations, and legal requirements.
Program Evaluation:Ability to assess service effectiveness and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Training Skills:Ability to support educational activities and training for clients, staff, and community partners.
Adaptability:Ability to adjust interventions and care based on client needs and team feedback.
