Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct patient care for adolescents (12–17) in a trauma-informed setting. You will work with licensed clinicians on crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement to support treatment, recovery, and life-skills development.

Qualifications

• 21+ years old with HS diploma/GED; degree in human services preferred.
• 0–1+ year in behavioral health, education, coaching, or youth services.
• Willingness for CPR/First Aid and physical intervention training (provided).
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization.
• Must pass MO background and drug screening.
• Bonus for prior mental health or youth experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities (art, music, recreation) to build coping skills.
• Provide behavioral support, mentoring, and structured routines.
• Use evidence-based, trauma-informed care techniques.
• Document progress and collaborate with clinical teams.
• Respond to escalations using safe intervention protocols.

Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday12:30PM–10:30PM
