Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Behavioral Health Tech-BHT in Galax, VA. The role provides direct patient care under nursing supervision on a 12-bed unit, with a full-time day shift and competitive hourly pay.

You will assist patients with daily living, observe patient behavior, and respond to crises. Required BLS/HWC within 45 days; CNA preferred. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and retirement plan options.

How You'll Contribute

• Will assist in meeting the needs of behavioral health patients.
• Maintain constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s).
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Summary

As a Behavioral Health Technician, under the supervision of nursing staff, will provide direct patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
• Reports any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.

Minimum Requirements

Required Skills:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Education

• Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Required Certifications/Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 45 days of hire.
• Handle with Care (HWC) within 45 days of hire.
• CNA licenses preferred.

Required Work Experience

• Behavioral Health experience preferred.
