Job summary

Wellstone is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support clients at our River Crossing Withdrawal Management facility. The role focuses on detox support, teaching basic living skills, and partnering with the therapeutic team to follow treatment plans.

You will document progress in the Electronic Health Record, perform 30-minute bed checks, and assist with safety drills and crisis interventions while promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational and documentation abilities.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, guidance, and reinforcement to clients in detox care.
• Document progress and maintain timely EHR records.
• Complete bed checks and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with housekeeping as needed.
• Engage in crisis de-escalation and basic safety procedures as required.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and submit timesheets promptly.
• Lift or assist clients as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description: The Behavioral Health Technician cares for clients at our River Crossing Withdrawal Management facility. This goal of this position is to help clients manage detoxification, teach basic living skills, and partner with the therapeutic team to ensure clients’ treatment care plans are followed. Our BHTs will learn proper documentation techniques and other state/federal standards followed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, earn certifications in their trainings and create a path forward with a career in Mental Health.
