Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Poplar Bluff, MO is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician I to provide direct and supportive care to clients in a safe, therapeutic environment. You will assist with health monitoring, document behaviors, and help with group education and transportation as needed.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent with two years of related work, and are trained in First Aid/CPR and crisis intervention.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent with two years of responsible employment.
  • Experience in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within three months of starting employment.

Responsibilities

  • Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.
  • Encourage clients to adhere to program expectations in a trauma-informed manner and communicate concerns to the treatment team.
  • Monitor vital signs and escalate to medical intervention for critical symptoms as needed.
  • Obtain and record vital signs and relevant medical symptoms as indicated by medical personnel.
  • Oversee medication administration per policy and procedure and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate urine collection, testing, lab send-offs, and document accordingly.
  • Prepare for and facilitate group rehabilitative support and education sessions.
  • Provide client transportation as needed to appointments.
