Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician follows general screening and assessment standards and practice guidelines, is accountable for case management, and supports clinicians in accordance with policies and procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conducts intake and initial eligibility assessment of new patients.
  • Conducts service plan updates and annual assessment updates for established patients.
  • Completes behavioral health screening tools and level of care assessments when necessary.
  • Supports and collaborates with assigned clinicians/providers on caseloads and identified needs.
  • Supports rescheduling, outreach, and reengagement efforts as needed.
  • Participates in staffing, treatment planning and case conferences.
  • Engages clients that have challenges with treatment compliance and problem-solves barriers around appointment adherence.
  • Connects patients with local community resources as necessary, and accurately documents all interaction in accordance with NOAH policies and procedures.
  • Provides education and linkage to community services in the event that a higher level of care is indicated.
  • Notifies and consults with all Behavioral Health partners to ensure eligible patients receive treatment.
  • Promotes self-advocacy by assisting the client to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of clinical services.
  • Interfaces with family members or other involved parties for the purpose of maintaining or enhancing treatment plan goals.
  • Adheres to all rules and regulations regarding patient confidentiality and patient rights as outlined in contracts, NOAH policy, and State and Federal regulations.
  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Consistently meets position productivity expectations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of case management principles and practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in related field.
  • 3+ years of behavioral health related experience.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in behavioral health or social work.
  • 1+ years of case management experience in outpatient behavioral health setting.
  • Baccalaureate Social Worker (BSW).

Other Requirements

  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
