Job summary

Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for the Ridgeway Residential Program. This full-time position includes evening and overnight shifts with shift differentials.

A valid MO Class E license and reliable transportation are required. You will maintain a trauma-informed environment, support daily living skills, lead groups, teach emotional regulation, document observations, and assist during crises while handling medications per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSE required.
• Must hold or obtain MO Class E Driver's License by start date; Class D for IL residents.
• Reliable transportation and pass Motor Vehicle Record standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.
• Support clients with daily living skills (hygiene, meals, medications).
• Lead or assist with therapeutic and recreational groups.
• Teach emotional regulation, coping skills, and healthy habits.
• Document observations and interventions accurately.
• Perform safety checks and provide client transportation as needed.
• Assist during behavioral crises and follow emergency protocols.
• Track and distribute medications under agency policies.

Pay: $17.38 - $19.78/hour + shift differentials

Community Counseling Center offer's shift differentials for BHT staff who work an Evening or Overnight shift at its residential facilities.
Evening Shift: + $0.50/hour per hour worked on Evenings.
Overnight Shift: +$1.00/hour per hour worked on Overnights

Behavioral Health Technician - Ridgeway

Shifts Available

Full Time

• Thursday/Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturday/Sunday 11am - 11pm

PRN

• Typically 1 shift per week, any shift depending on need and your availability

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE
• Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation.

Note: The Class E is just a written required computer test. No Driving Test has to be taken for the Class E. Then you would go to the DMV after the test is taken (passed) and transfer the license over to that Class E.

The Ridgeway Program

Ridgeway is a ten bed, all female, Intensive Residential Treatment Service (IRTS) that provides a high level of direct service and supports for individuals living with chronic mental health diagnoses (i.e., anxiety, bi-polar, depression, personality disorders, etc.) that often involve severe behavioral and emotional issues resulting in guardianship.
