Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Virginia seeks a Mental Health Technician to support a safe, therapeutic milieu as a PRN team member. You will assist with patient care, monitor behavior, and help with daily living activities under RN guidance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; pursuing a Bachelor's degree acceptable.
• BLS Health Care Provider certification required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Six months psychiatric experience required; internship acceptable.
• One year experience in acute behavioral health setting; medical tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document patient admission and shift behavioral data; assist RN assessments.
• Perform vital signs and accuchecks; report abnormalities to RN; assist with ADLs.
• Provide behavioral health interventions using the least restrictive methods.
• Ensure safety of patients, visitors and staff with routine and special checks.
• Act as sitters for behavioral health patients and assist on other floors as needed.
