Job summary

Centra Behavioral Health Hospital in Lynchburg, VA, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support compassionate, patient-centered care in behavioral health.

You'll assist with therapeutic milieu under RN supervision, monitor patients, aid with daily living, and participate in de-escalation and coping skills teaching. This role requires a high school diploma and CPR/de-escalation certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting is preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support therapeutic milieu under RN direction, ensure programs run on schedule and maintain safety.
• Supervise patients, treat patients and guests with dignity.
• Maintain professional development such as CPR and CPI as required.
• Observe patient status and report changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Provide input to nursing staff through reports and end-of-shift notes.
• Assist with activities of daily living and de-escalation when needed.
