Job summary

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician II to help maintain a safe, therapeutic campus for adolescents. The role involves supervising daily activities, implementing treatment plans and fostering a supportive environment on site in Arizona.

The ideal candidate has BH experience or education and a strong ability to work with youth. The organization offers trauma-informed care, opportunities for growth and a mission-driven nonprofit culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a thorough background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Education options: BA in behavioral health, AS with 2+ years BH work, or HS diploma with 4+ years BH work.
• Experience with youth or in behavioral health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, accountability and security of campus.
• Teach, coach and supervise students in daily living activities on and off campus.
• Observe peer culture for patterns of progress or regression in the program.
• Observe individual student behavior over time and track progress toward treatment goals.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Follow and implement individual treatment plans for all students.
• Recognize escalating behaviors and intervene to ensure safety.
