Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for our senior unit. The role supports a multidisciplinary team and provides compassionate care to patients with dementia, depression, and other conditions in a busy behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include collaborative care planning, routine monitoring, and documentation in the EMR. The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a pay range of $19.75–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work the hours specified and perform essential job functions including patient care responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and maintain EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective communication skills to create a positive work environment.
• Participates in the daily inter-disciplinary treatment team meeting as needed.
• Assists with activities of daily living and collection of vital signs.
• Maintains accurate and concise records in the patient’s EMR.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges; supports medication monitoring and patient care education.
