Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for Sea Grove Recovery, a 41-bed facility offering PHP and residential treatment for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

The BHT will be an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, milieu management, and collaboration with nurses and social workers to reinforce coping strategies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Eligible to become a Peer Counselor.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care and supervision for all clients as part of the treatment team.
• Conduct milieu management: rounds, document behavioral progress, mood changes, incidents and daily observations for clinical staff with de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
• Work closely with nurses, social workers and staff to reinforce coping strategies and provide guidance.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, hygiene, meal monitoring and recreational or educational programs.
• Escort or transport clients to community activities, external appointments, or other agencies when required.

Responsibilities

We are now hiring Behavioral Health Technician at Sea Grove Recovery.

Located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Sea Grove Recovery will provide substance use treatment for adults, as well as dual diagnosis treatment for adults with a co-occurring mental health disorder. The 41-bed facility is in a serene, wooded environment and is designed to maximize healing and meet the needs of every patient who attends treatment. Sea Grove offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that takes place for most of the day throughout the week with PHP lodging available. The program allows for those in our care to receive treatments and therapies throughout the day in an environment conducive to healing and a treatment plan built around their individual needs. In addition to the substance use program, Sea Grove Recovery is equipped to provide treatment to those with a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health disorder.

The Behavioral Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team and is responsible for providing continuous patient care and supervision for all clients.

BHTs will be responsible for milieu management, such as conducting rounds, documenting behavioral progress, mood changes, incidents, and daily observations accurately for clinical staff, and utilizing approved de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.

Work closely with nurses, social workers, and staff to reinforce coping strategies and provide guidance.

Assist clients with daily living activities, hygiene, meal monitoring, and recreational or educational programs.

Escort or transport clients to community activities, external appointments, or other agencies when required.
