Job summary

Universal Health Services is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician at Sea Grove Recovery in Mount Pleasant, SC. The role involves active patient care within a multidisciplinary team, supporting adults with substance use treatment and co-occurring disorders.

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor mood and behavior, document progress, and employ de-escalation and safety protocols. Collaboration with nurses and social workers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience is preferred.
• Eligible to become a Peer Counselor.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care and supervision as part of the treatment team.
• Perform milieu management including rounds, document behavioral progress, mood changes, incidents and daily observations for clinical staff, and use approved de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
• Work closely with nurses, social workers and staff to reinforce coping strategies and provide guidance.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, hygiene, meal monitoring, and recreational or educational programs.
• Escort or transport clients to community activities, external appointments, or other agencies when required.

Education

We are now hiring Behavioral Health Technician at Sea Grove Recovery.

Located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Sea Grove Recovery will provide substance use treatment for adults, as well as dual diagnosis treatment for adults with a co-occurring mental health disorder. The 41-bed facility is in a serene, wooded environment and is designed to maximize healing and meet the needs of every patient who attends treatment. Sea Grove offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that takes place for most of the day throughout the week with PHP lodging available. The program allows for those in our care to receive treatments and therapies throughout the day in an environment conducive to healing and a treatment plan built around their individual needs. In addition to the substance use program, Sea Grove Recovery is equipped to provide treatment to those with a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health disorder.

The Behavioral Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team and is responsible for providing continuous patient care and supervision for all clients.
