Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, an Oceans Healthcare Company, in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support nursing staff and maintain a therapeutic milieu through routine patient care tasks within the BHT's training and experience.

The BHT will help ensure safety and high-quality care by performing vital signs, ADL support, nutrition monitoring, and diligent documentation. Compliance with Joint Commission and state regulations is required.

Qualifications

• De-escalation and therapeutic intervention skills.
• Strong documentation and communication abilities.
• Ability to follow nursing directives and participate in care plans.

Responsibilities

• Continually monitors and supports compliance within unit rules.
• Implements patient care activities under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel; performs vital signs, weights, ADL, nutritional monitoring and communicates findings to the nurse.
• Assists patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions and mobility needs; supports at-risk or physically challenged patients.
• Individualizes patient care activities to age-specific, disability, and cultural needs.
• Communicates and documents patient observations related to behavior and location; records nutrition and vital signs on observation forms.
• Communicates task outcomes to nursing staff and follows up on patient care responsibilities to ensure continuity of care.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
