Job summary

Istss in Miami, FL is seeking a Care Assistant in Psychiatry to support patients with activities of daily living, assist with personal care, and aid in documentation under RN supervision. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and collaborate with the care team.

Responsibilities include observing and recording patient behaviors, participating in group activities, applying CPI de-escalation when needed, and assisting with intake paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience working with children and/or adolescents preferred.
• Hospital experience in Psychiatry departments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily living activities support and personal care under RN supervision.
• Documents significant observations and patient information in charts.
• Communicates patient behavior to team and reports changes to RN.
• Leads group sessions with a preset agenda and monitors safety.
• Applies de-escalation techniques and manages difficult situations.
• Completes documentation on treatment plans, observations, and activities.
• Supports unit activities and assists with routine measurements and specimen collection.
• Interacts with patients to support social skills aligned with treatment goals.
