Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Rushford Center in Willimantic, CT seeks a dedicated behavioral health professional to assist clinicians and coordinate services for adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders. This role supports treatment planning, group activities, and case management to promote patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include direct care under supervision, facilitating psychoeducational groups, monitoring safety, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Drug and Alcohol Recovery Counseling (DARC), Human Services, or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health or substance abuse setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Alcoholics (or Narcotics) Anonymous 12-Step Program is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) & First Aid training certifications are preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English required for Latino Program only).

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, under the supervision of a licensed/credentialed clinician, by co-leading therapy groups and performing assigned case management activities to assist in achieving established client outcomes.
  • Implements established behavioral management plans for a program or for individual clients; supports adherence to the plan and provides counseling support.
  • Performs safety checks, monitors activities on the floor, conducts intakes and searches, and disposes of potentially dangerous items per protocols.
  • Monitors medication self-administration and assists with medication management; maintains paperwork and counts;
  • Observes clients and communicates effectiveness of the Treatment Plan to the Treatment Team; documents responses and provides revisions as needed.
  • Utilizes community resources and makes referrals to support treatment plans and post-discharge care.
  • Assists with transportation arrangements for program attendance; connects with area resources to support services.
