Job summary

Music City Detox in Kingston, GA seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to help provide a safe environment for clients in the program. You will answer questions, assist with adjusting routines, monitor safety, and support wellbeing under supervision.

Responsibilities include logging belongings, supervising rounds, de-escalating issues, participating in staff meetings, maintaining logs, assisting with documentation, and coordinating with therapy staff to address clinical needs while protecting

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health settings preferred.
• Valid state driving license with no major violations in past five years.
• Ability to follow policies and maintain client privacy.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Records inventory log of belongings and secures valuables.
• Monitors clients during rounds and logs whereabouts.
• De-escalates AMA and other client problems.
• Participates in staff meetings as scheduled.
• Ensures garbage is disposed of properly and areas are clean.
• Maintains logbook for continuity of care and shift turnover.
• Attends required staff training and supports therapy staff as needed.
• Supervises clients with emphasis on safety and wellbeing.
• Reminds clients of program rules and reports infractions.
• Provides emotional support and refers to therapy staff for clinical issues.
• Completes paperwork neatly and on time.
• Communicates with staff to promote quality client care.
• Maintains clean, properly supplied work areas.
• Observes and reports safety and maintenance problems.
• Interacts respectfully and maintains professional boundaries.
• Exercises professional judgement for safety and behavioral issues.
• Protects privacy of client information per policies.
• Transports clients as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
