Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Mexia, TX is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist III at the Martin Unit to deliver behavior support services, conduct observations, and assist with functional behavior assessments under supervision of a Board Certified Licensed Behavior Analyst.

You will train staff, monitor plans, collect data, and participate in interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, evidence‑based care for individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or applied behaviour analysis.
• Experience with functional behavioral assessments or behaviour support plans is preferred.
• Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis methods and data collection.
• Ability to train staff in behaviour support plan implementation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional behavioral assessments and data analysis under supervision.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate behaviour support plans with team input.
• Train staff on behaviour support plans and observation techniques.
• Monitor progress and report outcomes to supervisory analyst.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
