Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina is seeking a Behavioral Health clinician to deliver psychiatric and crisis services across the Emergency Department and medical floors, with potential travel to other sites. You will perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate care, and support patients of all ages facing psychiatric or substance use crises.

Required are a Master’s in Social Work, 1–3 years of mental health experience, and an NC LSW/LPC/Clinical Psychologist license (LCSW within 1 year).

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required.
• 1–3 years of clinical mental health experience required.
• Current NC LSW, LPC, or Clinical Psychologist license required.
• LCSW required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric assessments and crisis evaluations using DSM‑V criteria.
• Coordinate care transfers and verify insurance benefits/pre-authorizations.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy as needed.
• Discharge planning and community liaison responsibilities.
• Document treatment plans and progress notes; maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to program development.
• Adhere to NASW ethics and engage in ongoing education.
