Job summary

Fundamental is seeking a Director of Social Services for our acute behavioral health hospital in Sumter, SC. This role provides clinical and administrative leadership to deliver trauma-informed, patient-centered behavioral health services across the continuum of care.

You will oversee social work across the lifespan, ensure compliance with regulations, and collaborate with nursing, psychiatry, and community partners to support safe, timely discharge and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of behavioral health or psychiatric social work experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience required; Director-level behavioral health experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric treatment, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise, and evaluate the Social Services Department and assigned staff.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, workflows, and performance standards.
• Lead the hospital's social services discharge planning process and coordinate referrals.
