Job summary

The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) – Safety Department at CMHHIFL in Denver – seeks staff to maintain a safe environment, respond to crises, and support patient care. This in-person role requires shift work at a 24/7 facility, with duties spanning surveillance, transport, and incident documentation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and experience in behavioral health or security, including de-escalation and CPI/VDI techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Substitutions: None.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in behavioral health settings and with detainees.

Responsibilities

• Respond to hospital staff requests for assistance.
• Perform supportive actions and approved physical intervention techniques as necessary.
• Maintain safety and security throughout the hospital by responding to psychiatric emergencies and non-emergency situations.
• Transport/escort clients and staff to locations on and off hospital grounds.
• Communicate with police agencies and act as liaison between Fort Logan and law enforcement.
