Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck seeks a Registered Nurse for our Behavioral Health unit to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adults with acute and chronic mental health conditions.

You will assess and plan patient care, administer psychotropic medications, and support therapeutic groups within a safe, structured setting. Join a multidisciplinary team focused on safety, healing, and dignified patient care.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an approved school.
• Active RN license in good standing with North Dakota or a compact state.
• BLS certification within orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult behavioral health patients.
• Perform mental status exams, risk assessments, and care planning.
• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor side effects.
• Lead therapeutic groups and provide psychoeducation to patients/families.
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses in line with policies.
• De-escalate crises and collaborate with the care team to ensure safety.
