Job summary

Signet Health's Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, Texas is seeking an RN for PRN shifts to provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting.

You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, document patient data, and support treatment planning under supervision. Collaboration with psychiatrists and nursing staff is essential to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment and quality care for patients with mental and emotional health needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an RN program.
• Current, active RN license to practice in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, strong observation skills, and knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and responses to treatment.
• Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic medications, changes bandages, and notes patient reactions.
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
• Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate).
• Conducts focused patient assessments, collects data, and documents it in patient charts for the supervising nurses, physicians.
• Works with other staff, such as psychiatrists, to help implement treatment plans.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions or recreational activities.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
