Job summary

Signet Health's Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, Texas is seeking an RN for PRN shifts to provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting.

You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, document patient data, and support treatment planning under supervision. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an RN program.
• Current, active RN license to practice in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, strong observation skills, and knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic medications, changes bandages, and notes patient reactions.
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
• Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate).
• Conducts focused patient assessments, collects data, and documents it in patient charts for the supervising nurses, physicians.
• Works with other staff, such as psychiatrists, to help implement treatment plans.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions or recreational activities.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

The behavioral health RN provides direct patient care, administers medications, monitors vital signs, and performs basic patient assessments under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer. They also help with patient education, assist with daily activities, and document patient data to support treatment planning for individuals with mental and emotional health needs.
