Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Westport, CT, is seeking a Per Diem Float RN to provide direct care for behavioral health patients. The role emphasizes bio-psychosocial assessments, individualized care planning, and active participation in treatment teams and group sessions.

You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and staff to adapt care plans as patient needs evolve, ensuring quality care and safety across the unit.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
• BLS Provider certification within 60 days of hire.
• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred.
• Evidence of leadership ability and MOAB training.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develops a nursing plan of care aligned with the master treatment plan.
• Participates in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals.
• Implements nursing plan and co-leads group therapy sessions.
• Evaluates response to interventions and revises the plan as needed.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to meet patient needs and maximize staff performance.
• Interacts with the interdisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.
