Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls seeks a Registered Nurse for the Adolescent & Child Units. The RN provides direct patient care under supervision, coordinates care with the team, and participates in a structured, multidisciplinary approach to help youths cope with depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction, or suicidal behavior.

The role requires an active RN license in the state, effective communication, and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice.
• Experience in a clinical environment preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and coordinating with the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories and documenting patient status.
• Teaches patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care.
• Evaluates patient care and updates care plans as conditions change.
• Maintains infection-control and safety standards and documents care in charts.
• Keeps equipment and supplies ready and coordinates care with team.
