Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for inpatient psychiatric services in Arizona. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, safety, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.

The RN will supervise Mental Health Workers and other staff, train future nurses, and support the transition from acute care to outpatient care within a stigma-free, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
• Must have at least 1 year of acute care hospital RN experience.
• Must possess a current AZ RN license, temporary AZ license, or valid compact licensure.
• Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• CPI certification and BLS training provided upon hire/transfer.
• Fingerprint clearance card required with timeline.
• English reading and writing proficiency; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to Mental Health Workers, Behavioral Health Technicians, and Health Unit Coordinators.
• Support training of future nurses within a safe, therapeutic inpatient environment.
• Advocate for patients and ensure dignity, safety, and quality care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic psychiatric care.
