Job summary

WellSpan Philhaven in Mt. Gretna, PA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide and coordinate treatment for psychiatric patients as part of the care team.

You will support clinical staff scheduling and competency oversight, working under the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing guidelines. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, administering medications, coordinating care, conducting therapy sessions, documenting observations, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Diploma/associate/bachelor RN degree from an accredited program.
• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification and willingness to obtain or maintain required certs.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and families to obtain health history and environment.
• Administers medications as prescribed and monitors effects.
• Coordinates care for assigned psychiatric patients.
• Conducts individual or group therapy sessions and tracks progress.
• Documents observations in patient records with accuracy.
• Delivers health care education to patient and family.
• Supports nurse triage phone calls when appropriate.
• Ensures safety and compliance with licensing and safety policies.
