Qualifications

• Current active RN license in the state of practice (Michigan).
• Minimum 2 years in behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, uses, side effects, and monitoring.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.
• Ability to perform mental health assessments and risk evaluations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; clear documentation.
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations and remain calm in crises.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health and behavioral assessments for patients.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans with the team.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system.
• Respond to behavioral crises with de-escalation and safety protocols.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, options, and coping strategies.
• Monitor patient safety, including suicide risk assessment and prevention.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers and therapists to coordinate care.
• Maintain infection control, HIPAA compliance, and organizational policies.
