Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health/Geriatric units. This full-time night rotation shift runs 7:00 am – 7:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

Compensation ranges $35.35 to $53.58 per hour plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include clinical care, patient education, crisis intervention, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

Treat patients and educate patients about mental and medical conditions, and provide emotional support.
Run therapeutic groups and psychiatric crisis intervention; seclusion and restraint as needed.
Record patients' histories, help perform diagnostics and operate medical equipment.
Administer treatment and medications and assist with follow-up and rehabilitation.
Educate patients and families on managing illness, diet, exercise, and self-care.
