Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a registered nurse for its Behavioral Health, Geriatric unit. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to educate patients and families, manage medical and psychiatric care, and support recovery.

This full-time days role runs 7:00 am–7:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays. A current RN license with BLS, and knowledge of mental health laws are required; compensation includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsabilités

• Treat patients, educate patients about mental and medical conditions, and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Run therapeutic groups and provide psychiatric crisis intervention.
• Assist with seclusion and restraint of patients as required.
• Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms and help perform diagnostic tests.
• Administer treatment and medications and follow up on rehabilitation and discharge plans.
