Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks an experienced RN for behavioral health. You will provide direct patient care, perform bio-psychosocial assessments, and develop care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include leading group therapy sessions, evaluating responses, and adjusting care accordingly. Requires ASN, CT RN license, and BLS; BSN preferred. Eligible for a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Must be able to individually and as a team member manage out-of-control patients using MOAB training.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 60 days of hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Performs initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments according to nursing standards; develops a care plan.
• Participates in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals and interventions.
• Implements nursing plan and co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
• Evaluates patient responses and revises the care plan as needed.
• Collaborates with the treatment team to adjust goals and interventions.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to meet patient needs and maximize staff performance.
• Demonstrates knowledge to interact with the interdisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Reflects ANA standards of practice and ethics as part of daily care.
