Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health, Adult Intensive Male unit. The position offers a 12-week assignment with a $60.00 per hour flat rate, full-day schedule, and day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).

You will provide direct patient care, education, and crisis intervention in a hospital setting. Required licensure as an RN, current BLS, and knowledge of behavioral health care standards.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in behavioral health settings.
• Educate patients and families about medical and mental health conditions.
• Run therapeutic groups and perform psychiatric crisis intervention.
• Record patient histories, assist with diagnostics, administer medications and follow-up care.
